Central College
Our kindergarten is an all-day, academic program. Each kindergarten class is staffed by a licensed teacher and a qualified teacher's aide; keeping the student-teacher ratio to 11:1. Kindergarten admission is attained by meeting the following criteria:
Chronological Age: Age five on or before September 30. Kindergarten Readiness: Successful completion of a readiness assessment and evidence of socialization. Family Consultation: Prospective parents will meet with Academy representatives to determine fit for our program.

Our faculty strives to equip independent learners to successfully navigate a culture in which they ultimately will both glorify God and serve others. Education, briefly defined, is knowledge obtained through a learning process. Since God, not humanity, is the source of all knowledge and truth, it is appropriate to anchor all learning firmly upon God's Word. In fact, it is impossible to study any subject thoroughly without acknowledging God as the source. With this in mind, our faculty integrates the truth of God's Word across academic disciplines
The term Worldview describes the way an individual interprets and responds to culture-based on a framework of ideas and beliefs. Worldview shapes the way we perceive and interact with our environment. While our students attend many churches across different denominations, as Christians we share a Biblical Worldview. A believer's response to the world is in stark contrast to those who do not call Christ Lord. Our faith colors our view of human beings, parenting styles, patterns of giving, even the way we conduct business.
CCCS trains our students to approach learning through this lens as they engage in the critical thinking process The Bible's Creation Fall, Redemption theme guides this process. In each area of study, students will ask, "What did God intend? How has it been broken by sin? How does God want us to respond?"
Our Faith in Jesus Christ compels us to add the first layer of thought that does not exist in other schooling experiences. CCCS believes that when our students are trained to think critically as well as Christianly, they will become more than mere learners: leaders in our communities, equipped to promote change in a broken world.

Uniforms
Uniforms: CCCS has an established dress code in order to contribute to a more positive learning environment. To ensure consistency in color, style and quality, our official uniform supplier is "Lands' End School Specific guidelines for each apparel item are found in the Parent-Student Handbook, available online on ParentsWeb: The CCCS "Swap Shop" is available to share gently worn items at no cost.
School Calendar
In general, we follow the Westerville City Schools' calendar for school days as well as inclement weather delays or closures. The CCCS calendar is published in late spring for the next school year.
Central College Christian School is chartered by the State of Ohio Department of Education and is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). Our excellent faculty consists of licensed or certified teachers We strive to maintain a maximum enrollment of 22 students in each classroom.
Hours: Students arrive and may enter the building at 8:00 a.m. The instructional day begins at 8:15 a.m. Dismissal is at 3:25 p.m. Before-care is available beginning at 7.00 a.m. Students are dismissed at 8:00 a.m., to go to their homeroom. Aftercare is available at dismissal and lasting until 6:00 pm.
Lunch/Recess: Students may pack a lunch or purchase a hot lunch and drink, ordered in advance online via ParentsWeb. Parents, other relatives are welcome to take their children out to lunch during the lunch/recess hour.
Transportation: CCCS does not provide transportation. Parents should contact their district of residence to inquire if transportation services are available. If you live within 30 minutes of CCCS you may be eligible to receive transportation services unless the district deems transportation impractical. In such cases, compensation may be provided by the district in lieu of transporting your child.
Volunteering: Educational research confirms a high correlation between parent volunteerism and academic achievements. To this end, we strongly encourage parent involvement in both the classroom and participation in our Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF) which meets regularly throughout the school year.
Library
Students are scheduled to visit and check out books each week from our Library Learning Center We hold Scholastic Book Fairs throughout the year to support our Library, ensuring the most up to date titles are available for our students.
